Recently, the South Korean company LG introduced its rotating screen smartphone LG Wing globally. Now the company is going to launch it in the Indian market. LG Wing will be launched in India on 28 October of 2020, for which the company has also started sending media invoices. The company has started teasing it on all the social media channels.
Officially introduced over the phone last month, the LG Wing smartphone has been produced under the company’s ‘Explorer Project’. The phone gets a completely new and unique design. It has two screens, one of which can be rotated up to 90 degrees. Interestingly, LG Wing can also be used as a regular (one-screen) phone.
The device has become slightly thicker and heavier due to having two screens. It weighs about 260 grams. Talking about the display, the main screen of LG Wing is a 6.8-inch curved P-OLED display. It offers full HD + resolution and a high aspect ratio of 20.5: 9.
The second screen is made of a G-OLED panel, it supports full HD + resolution. Its screen size is 3.9 inches, which is smaller than the main screen. It has an aspect ratio of 1.15: 1
LG says that the device has been given a swivel design, hinges on the hinge with dual spring and dual lock mechanism, which allows the main screen to rotate. There is also a hydraulic damper to reduce the shock when rotating the screen.
According to LG, this technology allows the LG Wing to run up to 200,000. More importantly, LG has provided a poly-oxy-methylene (POM) coating at the bottom of the main screen, so that the second screen does not get scratched while rotating the main screen.
The phone is available in 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage options with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. This is the first phone from the company to have a pop-up camera.
The phone has a 32-megapixel single selfie camera. However, there is a triple rear camera setup in the rectangular shape in the vertical position on the back panel. The rear camera has a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera.
