In the category of foldable smartphones, Oppo introduced Oppo Find N foldable phone by the end of the year which proved to be a big step for such technology. We used this phone for some time. Read how was our experience with this phone.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold series has done a good job in the category of foldable smartphones in the past years. The company’s latest Galaxy Z fold has definitely brought the company to a new level in foldable phones. However, Oppo has definitely given a surprise to the people in this category. Oppo’s foldable smartphone Find N has definitely made people think whether Samsung’s phone was really the best or has Oppo gone a step ahead in this matter and offered something?

Oppo Find N is the company’s first foldable smartphone, although it will be available for sale only in China, but the company sent us to use this phone. How did we feel about this smartphone in a short time and is there any leap in foldable smartphone technology we can expect from it?
We have also reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and before that we got a chance to review the launch foldable technology as well. With this, we will be able to tell in a better way what was the difference between the two foldable technologies. When compared, I saw a difference between Oppo and Samsung’s plans. Samsung has planned with the Flip 3 that foldable technology should become so common that it becomes just another feature for users. Samsung tried to make the foldable phone a normal smartphone. At the same time, Oppo has given some such features along with the tablet experience that will make the experience of using your smartphone even better.
Oppo Find N Design
Oppo has done a lot of work on the design of this phone. This phone is made from Premam material glass and aluminum. The phone will definitely feel a bit heavy and chunky on lifting, but its design will definitely appeal to your mind. When you fold the phone, the OLED display on the outside gives the look of an almost edge-to-edge frame.
However, this phone feels quite thick when folded. Its outer display gets a 60Hz refresh rate, but when you unfold this phone, you will get a 7.1-inch OLED display and 120Hz refresh rate. The viewing experience, color-contrast, brightness were good with both the displays. It delivers crisp visuals with HDR playback support.
How was the experience of foldable technology?
There was no fault with Oppo in the foldable screen or hinge. Find N has used very thin glass on the OLED panel. oppo has done the best job on Flexion Hinge. First, no matter how many times you fold and unfold the phone, you will not feel any problem. With this, when the phone is folded, both the screens sit on each other in such a way that it looks like a phone. Due to this there is also a possibility of damage to the screen due to dust etc.
It is inevitable to see a bump in the screen, but it does not come in the way of the visual experience at all. In this case, Oppo has defeated Samsung. Samsung could not bring perfection even after working on this technology many times year after year.
Oppo Find N performance
The company did not limit this phone to foldable technology. It has tried to give an all-rounder smartphone by making the rest of the specifications strong. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. With all the specifications, Oppo hasn’t compromised in terms of battery either. This phone has 33W fast charging support with 4500mAh battery.
Also 15W wireless charging support is available. Fingerprint sensor has been given in its power button and the feature of face unlock is also present. One place Oppo has missed and that is the IP rating. Samsung has beaten Oppo in this matter.
Oppo Find N Camera
In this, you get both the selfie cameras of 32MP in the front. On its rear, you get 50MP primary camera, 16MP ultra-wide and 13MP telephoto camera. Its camera performs well. It can be called better than average. Talking about the software, the company has made ColorOS 12 available in it. In this, you can convert full-screen apps into floating windows or enjoy two important tasks simultaneously with the help of split-screen.
We could not even review this phone completely because it is available in China and its interface has also been made accordingly. Due to different apps and language differences, it could not be reviewed in detail.
All though this, Oppo Find N has done a better job in foldable phones. Foldable is no longer a new technology and it is expected that other companies will follow the same design and idea. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Oppo has worked on a good foldable smartphone this year with a big display and compact phone, balanced specifications and not-so-visible creases. By focusing more on software, Oppo can give a better competition to its competitor Samsung.
